The Inaugural Around New Zealand Classic Car Tour, will take place from 27th April to 20th May 2009. This is your opportunity to join what is sure to be a unique and truly memorable experience. So read on and join us taking "The Long Way Home" in 2009.

The Around New Zealand Classic Car Tour is intended to be the fun adventure of a lifetime that will make you want to return to do again in the future, as opposed to a gruelling, competitive event. The focus of the tour is to experience the scenic beauty and clean open spaces for which New Zealand is renowned at the wheel of your favorite classic car.

En route you will enjoy fine dining and quality, 4 star or better accommodation. The Rally will start in Auckland, the country's largest city, on 27th April, and finish back in Auckland on 20th May 2009. Secure parking will be provided every night for the duration of the tour.

The tour route will take you through breath taking scenery, driving on everything from pristine roads to hard packed-sand beaches. Although primarily a tour we have included several mildly competitive activities along the way with intermittent 'lay days' to enable participants to experience some of New Zealand's 'hot spots' at their leisure.

Taking "the long way home" is the tour mantra and we will do it in comfort and style! The route takes us down the stunning Ninety Mile Beach in the far North, follows the picturesque New Zealand coastline, crosses the Great Southern Divide, and runs through the scenic Central Lakes region to Bluff at the very bottom of the South Island.

The tour is open to any Vintage and Classics Car enthusiast who wishes to participate in a this epic 24-day, 6,400 kilometre inaugural Around New Zealand Classic Car Tour. Your car must be capable of keeping up with the tour time schedule (Refer tour route/distances for details).

The tour is strictly limited to just 50 cars and it is anticipated that it will be over-subscribed. Priority will be given to those who register early.

NZMR, the tour operators and promoters, are a New Zealand Tourism Award winning company with over 10 years experience in the motor tourism business in New Zealand.

Please Note: Preparation notes including advice on safety equipment will be provided. Shipping will not be included in the entry-fee, but we will be recommending an official shipper to ensure all cars reach Auckland safely and in time for the start. All vehicles must have the required equipment for lawful operation on public roads and highways in their country of registration.
